On April 21, 2023, the Welcome Center was officially opened on the campus of the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology - a place of comprehensive service for foreign students and employees.
At the Welcome Centre, students, PhD students and researchers from abroad will receive assistance in matters related to education, university, stay in Poland and functioning in Bydgoszcz. - We will be the point of first and ongoing contact for foreigners visiting the University, a kind of "bridge" between them and the units of the university. We will help not only in administrative or formal matters related to education and living in Bydgoszcz. The tasks of the Welcome Center employees also include activities related to the integration and adaptation of foreign students and employees in the academic community - says Monika Wnęk from the International Relations Office of PBŚ.
Currently, over 350 foreign students study at the Bydgoszcz University of Technology, e.g. from Turkey, Ukraine, Rwanda, Gambia, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Spain and Italy. - The opening of a dedicated service point is one of the elements of the university's development in terms of internationalization. We offer courses of study in English, we implement projects in cooperation with foreign centers, we increase the language competences of our academic staff, we organize training and workshops on intercultural communication - says prof. Marek Adamski, Rector of the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology.
The opening of the Welcome Center is possible thanks to the participation of the Bydgoszcz University of Technology in the "Welcome to Poland" program implemented by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange.
